Startups from the Republic of Moldova attracted investors’ interest at “Moldova Startups Day – Bucharest,” held at UiPath headquarters
4 Dec 2025

17 technology startups from the Republic of Moldova presented their businesses in front of investors from Romania, at “Moldova Startups Day,” organized as an investment pitching session at UiPath Bucharest headquarters, Romania’s first unicorn. The initiative aimed to increase the visibility of Moldovan startups on the regional market and facilitate access to private investments such as angel and venture capital.
“Moldova Startup Days represents an important step for the startup ecosystem in Moldova. We came together to Bucharest to show investors the value, energy, and potential of founders from the Republic of Moldova and to build sustainable bridges toward future investments,” stated Olga Melniciuc, CEO of Startup Moldova.
The delegation from the Republic of Moldova included startups in fields such as fintech, healthtech, agritech, logistics and mobility, artificial intelligence, and others. These are innovative companies with new business models, ready for investment and strategic partnerships.
The event hosted over 70 investors, business angels, representatives of venture capital funds, and innovation support organizations interested in the region’s technology startups.
With a solid talent base in IT, engineering, and design, as well as tax incentives for technology companies, the Republic of Moldova is increasingly visible on the regional innovation map, especially through its startups.
Moldova Startups Day was organized by Startup Moldova and Underline Ventures, in partnership with The Business Room Studio, with the support of the Ukraine–Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF), and is part of the Investment Readiness Program, an initiative run by Startup Moldova to prepare local startups for attracting international angel and VC investments.

Moldova – a growing ecosystem
Currently, over 250 startups are active in the country. Already in 2025, Moldovan startups have attracted investments exceeding USD 15 million, double compared to 2024, indicating that investor interest in the local market is consolidating. The 2024 performance remains relevant for sector growth: over 1,000 jobs created and revenues exceeding USD 40 million, figures confirming the scaling potential of tech companies in Moldova.
The most dynamic verticals are healthtech, fintech, and edtech, but rapid growth is also seen in deeptech through AI-based solutions, automation, predictive technologies for health, and logistics and transport optimization. This progress is supported by the launch of Moldova HiTech Park, with an estimated economic impact of EUR 1.28 billion, as well as the development of specialized hubs: HealthTech Hub, AgriTech Arena, and GreenTech Hub. In addition, closer collaboration with universities and research institutes, a legal framework for launching a Fund of Funds for venture capital investments, new grant and co-investment instruments, a 7% tax regime, and benefits like the IT Visa contribute to creating a favorable climate for innovation and tech entrepreneurship.
