As a Communication Coordinator, you will be at the heart of this mission, ensuring our message is communicated effectively both locally and internationally.


The Role

We're hiring a Communications Manager to take ownership of how Startup Moldova presents itself, to the press, to our community, and online. Working closely with all of the departments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Startup Moldova’s digital narrative. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for startups, digital storytelling, an understanding of social media trends, and the ability to translate impactful ideas into compelling digital content.


Essential Functions


1. Strategic Communication

  • Develop general communication strategy for the organization.
  • Establish communication guidelines.
  • Manage communications budget, creative services and contractors.
  • Analyze communication metrics and prepare reports on performance


2. Public Relations/External Affairs

  • Serve as press contact and draft press materials, including media advisories, press releases, talking points, and other communications priorities;
  • Conduct regular media monitoring;
  • Develop, update, and manage inventory of internal and external communications tools and platforms across organization.


3. Social Media Management

  • Create and curate engaging content for all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Youtube)
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for regular posts
  • Monitor social media channels for audience engagement and respond to comments and messages
  • Analyze social media metrics and prepare reports on performance


4. Website Management

  • Update and maintain website content using a content management system (CMS).
  • Ensure website content is current, relevant, and aligned with our brand voice.
  • Collaborate with the website contractor to resolve any technical website issues.
  • Monitor website analytics and suggest improvements for user experience and engagement


5. Content Creation

  • Produce various forms of digital content, including infographics, graphics, and short videos.
  • Collaborate to gather information for content creation
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and is optimized for SEO


6. Email Marketing

  • Assist in creating and sending email newsletters via MailChimp or alike
  • Manage subscriber lists and analyze email campaign performance


7. Additional Duties

  • Stay up to date with digital media trends and best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging across all channels



Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Two years of experience in communications and/or digital marketing 
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and management tools
  • Basic knowledge of web design and content management systems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles


Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with trade associations, nonprofits, membership or related organizations is highly desirable
  • Five years of experience in digital marketing or social media management
  • Familiarity with the startup and tech ecosystem, locally or internationally
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, video, photo and design tools
